Hostess Pies Editorial Review
The Hostess apple pies are not reminiscent of the old fruit pies in waxy paper wrappers, in all ways but the brand name. They aren't terrible, but not good either, with the crust being okay and forgettable, while the filling is an odd chemical-tasting amalgam of apple and cinnamon. These shelf-stable pies are affordable and come in a pack of eight. They have an acceptable amount of filling, but not half as that doesn't cut it. The pies aren't inedible, though it's difficult to enjoy the flavour, which has an unpleasant aftertaste to some. The pricing, size, and taste value for most reviewers is good, although the value is highly subjective.
