The design of the screw terminals is not very good, and the wire terminals may be why some reviewers have reported that the plastic part of the element has melted or that they had problems with the terminals failing. They may not have gotten the wires securely attached. It is critical that you securely attach the wires to the screw terminals; otherwise, the terminals will overheat and fail as some reviewers have described.
