The camera bracket thumb screw can also fit a camera mount base, but it is not designed for DSLR cameras, only mini cameras under one lb. However, customers have raised several issues with the product. The device does not appear to have any vertical height adjustment and is fixed based on the pipe length, which is around 6 inches. According to a customer, it cannot provide enough height to scan standard 8.5" x 11" letter-size paper. Moreover, the metal base with the grid lines that magnetically hold the photo flat does not fit on the larger wooden base that supports the phone mount. The metal plate slides around on the wooden base, and every time a user changes the photo, they have to reposition it to try to get it straight.
