The Tormek T4 and T8 are two machines that are almost identical in terms of function. But, the T-8 is rated for continuous use and has a larger stone size which can sharpen more tools before requiring a replacement. The T-8 also has a zinc frame that provides better support for attachments. The T-8 includes additional accessories like the TT-50 truing tool and SE-77 square jig, which are not included with the T-4. The T-8 is twice the price of the T-4, but the price difference is reduced to only 10% after deducting the cost difference of stones. Whether someone needs or wants a T-8 over a T-4 depends on their sharpening needs.
