Is this sand suitable for a discus tank and how much would I need for 240 litres?
Answer: I used 25kg to cover the base of my 300 litre aquarium. Base measurements 114cm x 45cm. I initially planned it as a Discus aquarium. I also used 5kg of Tropica substrate underneath as it a heavily planted tank. I think you will find 25kg to be just the right amount. It's very clean sand. -

Does this sand need a good wash before use in a tropical tank or is it prewashed and good out the bag?
Answer: I used this sand for sand filter for my swimming pool, I back washed and water wasn’t that dirty, for a fish tank I would wash the sand
